Memory layers

Four layers. Four scopes. One governance model.

01

Ecosystem knowledge

General capabilities, validated operational patterns and knowledge that applies across all of Elysium. This layer is curated — information only reaches it through a governed promotion process. Nothing is automatically elevated to the ecosystem layer.

02

Vertical memory

Operational context specific to each vertical — the workflows, entities, service patterns and knowledge that applies to restaurants, clinics, logistics operations or other industry environments. Vertical memory is shared within the vertical but isolated from other verticals.

03

Organizational memory

Private business context that belongs exclusively to each organization. Customer records, operational history, business-specific configurations, and the accumulated context of working with this specific organization. This layer is never shared outside the organization without explicit authorization.

04

User context

Individual interaction history, preferences and working context governed by the organizational access model. User context belongs to the individual within the constraints of the organizational governance policy.

Knowledge promotion

Controlled evolution without compromising privacy.

Organizations accumulate valuable operational patterns. Some of these patterns might have value beyond one organization — improving the ecosystem's ability to handle similar situations across other contexts.

Elysium allows knowledge to be promoted upward through the memory layers — but only through a governed process. Promotion is reviewed to ensure that private organizational data does not travel with the promoted knowledge. Organizations retain control over whether their operational patterns contribute to higher layers.

What memory enables

Context-aware intelligence at every interaction.

When an AI agent or automated workflow has access to the right memory layer, it can respond with organizational context rather than generic reasoning. A customer interaction that knows the customer's history. An automated workflow that understands the current operational state. An agent that applies the organization's specific policies.

This is the difference between AI that is technically capable and AI that is organizationally useful.
